We at BG contribute to a more sustainable daily life
The act of caring for our surroundings and the resources of planet earth is central in our teaching practices and in the daily life and on-goings at BG.
We through teaching and concrete mono-and co-curricular projects make our students are of how they can make climate-friendly decisions and translate these into concrete action.
In the school year 2022/23 we will have a special focus on:
The climate committee. A collaboration between students, teachers and the technical functions at BG. With reference to the on-going examination of BG's facilities and buildings, we will adress how to install the best energy solutions for Birkerød Gymnasium. This will happen in collaboration with external building and energy consultants. The committee will investigate the possibilities for waste sorting in collaboration with Rudersdal municipality.
Sustainability. Specially designed units will be created in collaboration with The Red Cross and the Fund for Entrepreneurship regarding “Sustainable Fashion and Design” within the framework of the Global Goals Programme and FFE. A special theme week will be planned for all 2.g classes, along with a series of Red Cross activities for the 2u students. Thus all 2.g stx and all IB1 students are involved.
