  • We conduct experimental teaching labs in which we investigate new ways to become even better
  • Vi conduct teaching experiments where we challenge our preconceptions
  • Vi apply digital learning on an individual and collective basis where appropriate
  • We always steer towards new horizons grounded in our unique position as a local and international high school
  • The different educations we offer have a strong, clear, and attractive profile
  • We constantly respond to and uphold the admissions policies adhering to institutions of further education.

As always, at BG we take every year seriously - with determined effort.

During the school year 2022-23, we will have a special focus on:

  • Revitalization of BIGMUN. During 2021-22, BIGMUN was held as a minor in-house conference. In 2022-23 it our sincere hope that it will be possible to once again host a Birkerød Model United Nations Conference with participation from Danish and international schools.

  • The ADD project. ADD stands for “Algorithm – Data – Democracy" and at BG this project has a specific focus on understanding algorithms and articifical intelligence. Within the framework of this project, we will engage ourselves with the youth TechReal summit held in collaboration with the Danish Technical University, DTU. We will also be hosting a "Democracy Day" for all 3.g, 3u and 2.hf classes.

  • FFE and Global Goals in collaboration with The Red Cross. In collaboration with the Fonden for Entreprenørskab (Fund for Entrepreneurship) BG will host a series of feature days for 2.g and IB1 students.

  • The joy of reading. The reading counselors will expand the various succesful initiatives from 2021-22 and will stimulate our students' joy of reading through various different activities that strengthen their reading and comprehension skills.

  • English as second language – ESL competence. A special initiative will be launched in order to support the development of ESL competences for IB students with English as a second language.

  • Development of Academic Writing Skills for BG's IB students, a special area within ATL. The first steps towards strenghtening our IB students ATL skills have already been taken during the school year 2021-22. The upgrading of IB students' Academic Writing Skills is of great importance to the results of both the EE and TOK essay.

  • The Robot project. BG has a long-standing collaboration with Shape Robotics og the Novo Nordisk fund. This collaboration will continue with a series of events, among which will be a large Robot conference and the possibility for establishing a partnership with Dansk Arbejdsgiverforening (Confederation of Danish Employers) on designing teaching units with a focus on businesses and enterprises will be investigated further.

  • Digital teaching tools. We will focus on a systematic and targeted gathering of data on experiences in using digital teaching tools, especially with reference to the use of Systimes i-libaray, and the distribution of this knowledge.

  • Digitalization and interactivity in daily teaching: New, interactive screens will be installed in designated classrooms.
