The Danish Physics Olympiad team has been selected!
Birkerød Gymnasium has been the main driving force in organizing the Danish Physics Olympiad since many years. Some of the school's current and former physics teachers create the tasks that high school students from all over Denmark must solve to qualify in an elimination race.

On Sunday, the country's 18 strongest physics students finally competed for the coveted places at this summer's International Physics Olympiads.
At Birkerød Gymnasium our students have established an impressive track record in competitions for all the sciences. And within physics, we are regular participants in the Physics Olympiad. This year, there were no fewer than three students from BG among the final 18 participants: Hessong Williamson (2u), Myra Singh (3u) and Jovana Tashkovska (3u). The three have recently participated in a series of training weekends both at and outside BG, where the demanding university curriculum has been taught. As a result, Jovana (together with four talented students from other schools) qualified for the European Physics Olympiad in June in Sofia, Bulgaria. This is extra impressive because Jovana is currently in the middle of her final IB exams.
In the photo, Jovana is taking measurements on a oscillating steel wire, which was one of the tasks in the selection test. The other photo shows all three BG students.
Congratulations to Jovana on her outstanding performance. We hope you will have a great experience in Sofia, and we will cheer for you in June!
