New Principal appointed at Birkerød Gymnasium, HF, IB & Boarding School
On 1 November, Anders Lassen will assume the position of Principal of Birkerød Gymnasium, HF, IB & Boarding School. He joins the school from his current role as Vice Principal at Kruses Gymnasium in Farum.
Anders Lassen holds an MA in History and Social Science and has served as Vice Principal at Kruses Gymnasium since 2017, where he has also acted as Principal. Previously, he worked as Head of Education at Egedal Gymnasium and HF and as a teacher at Kruses Gymnasium.
Chair of the Board, Frank Christensen, states: “The appointment committee has concluded that Anders Lassen is the right person, with the right qualifications, to continue the positive development of Birkerød Gymnasium.”
Anders Lassen comments: “I am truly delighted to be taking on the leadership of Birkerød Gymnasium (BG). It is a highly respected institution with a long and proud history in Birkerød, and I am honoured to become part of that tradition. I will work diligently to ensure that the school maintains its unique combination of being a highly sought-after local upper secondary school, a strong international IB institution, and a thriving boarding school.
For me, it is essential that BG remains the students’ school. It should be a place where, alongside academic learning and personal development, students have opportunities to engage socially, musically, athletically, and creatively, and to participate in a wide range of clubs and committees. I look forward to working closely with students in pursuing these ambitions.
The education sector will face significant changes in the years ahead. Vice Principal Helene Vejbjerg Lindemann will continue to serve as Acting Principal until Anders Lassen takes up his post on 1 November.
