Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister Troels Lund Poulsen Puts Security and Defence Policy on the Agenda at Birkerød Gymnasium
Tomorrow, Friday 31 October at 10:30, the 2nd and 3rd year students at Birkerød Gymnasium will receive a distinguished visit from Denmark’s Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister, Troels Lund Poulsen.
For the presentation, Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister Troels Lund Poulsen will be accompanied by local politician and mayoral candidate in Rudersdal Municipality, Jens Kloppenborg, who made the visit possible.

The visit is part of the school’s focus on engaging students in current societal and political issues. During the visit, the minister will meet the school’s students and participate in a conversation about some of the most pressing topics that concern both young people and society at large – including Denmark’s security policy role, youth democratic participation, international conflicts, and defence policy in a globalised world. In this way, the visit ties in with several of Birkerød Gymnasium’s projects, such as GLOBAL GOALS in week 41 and BIGMUN, which takes place in mid-February.

The event is a unique opportunity for students to ask questions directly to one of the country’s most central decision-makers and gain insight into the considerations and challenges that shape Danish and international politics in a time of great change.
