IB Hat Ceremony 2025
Congratulations to all this year’s 134 IB graduates! The IB hat ceremony featured a farewell speech dedicated to the class of 2025 by IB coordinator Christina Rye Tarp and wise words from Principal Claus Campeotto, who emphasized that although the world has changed dramatically, we must all remember what we each can do to bring about positive change.
After this Yichen Liu and Victor Säll Kimura took to the stage to perform one last time for their classmates with a rendition of Randy Newman’s “You’ve got a friend in me”. Finally, Vedhika Krishnan delivered this year’s graduation speech. Vedhika’s speech highlighted the many facets of being an international student and reminded everyone present about the power of friendship.
BG’s IB students have worked incredibly hard to obtain their IB Diploma. Now the final exams are done, it is time to reflect on two years of academically rigorous studies in which our students have achieved not only academic but also personal success. We are incredibly proud of this years’ IB cohort and are confident that you are ready to take on the world equipped with all the skills and competencies that you have fine-tuned whilst being here at BG.
The first thing you learn when starting the IB is what it means to be an IB student through the IB learner profile, which aims to encourage students to be principled, knowledgeable and caring inquirers. After having spent two years getting to know you and seeing you develop, we know that you are ready to meet the challenges that may present themselves along the way with a balanced, reflective and open mind.
We encourage you all to keep thinking critically, keep asking questions and engage with your communities – big and small. As IB students from BG you are now part of a global community of international IB students, but you are first and foremost also part of our BG community and we look forward to welcoming you back to BG for a visit, where we will be excited to hear all about your adventures.
Congratulations to all of you and good luck in your future endeavours. “Be bold and mighty forces will come to your aid!” (quote attributed to Johann Wolfgang Goethe)
