Give a Box – Christmas is the celebration of hearts
For the third year in a row, IB students from Birkerød Gymnasium’s Give a Box project took the initiative to collect Christmas gifts for the many children at Center Sandholm and distribute them at the center’s traditional Christmas bazaar.
The thirteen students from the Give a Box group have collected the gifts over the past few weeks via donations from both Birkerød Gymnasium’s students and employees. The group has then sorted the many gifts by age and wrapped them in fine gift paper.
Even before this work began, the Give a Box group has been in contact with Center Sandholm, so that they know how many children are currently staying at the center and what age groups there are. In this way, the students ensure that there is a gift that suits all the children who stop by the Christmas bazaar.
On the day of the Christmas market, the Give a Box group was invited for lunch at Center Sandholm, where they also got a tour of the center that gave them a good insight into the daily life of the residents.
The students then began to set up their stall among the many other Christmas stalls in the Christmas bazaar. Some of BG's students distributed the collected gifts, while others made Christmas decorations, decorated the Christmas tree and made popcorn together with the children of the center.
