GET and GIVE an amazing experience by hosting BIGMUN 2026!
From February 18th, ,2026 - February 22nd, 2026, we are running a simulated UN-conference for upper secondary students here at BG with approximately 270 students from other upper secondary schools and from countries around the world. The conference is called BIGMUN. (MUN stands for Model United Nations). And you can host a BG's guest and both GIVE and RECEIVE a fantastic experience!
Four of the schools visiting BIGMUN have been granted host accommodation after having applied for it, as they wouldn´t be able to attend otherwise. These are three German schools and one school from the Ukraine. This means that we must find homes for 66 students. So far, we have received accommodation for 43 students, but we still need to accommodate 23 students more.

It doesn´t take much to be a host, you need to have an available bed and provide breakfast and dinner for four days. The students arrive on Wednesday afternoon and leave again on Sunday morning and it is during this time that they need somewhere to stay. Apart from that, they also need assistance to get to and from school. They can manage public transport themselves, if you just help them the first day. The cost of public transport they will pay for themselves.
The hosted students are serious, skilled and ambitious students attending the conference and they require no entertainment after school or any other special treatment. They are very grateful to be hosted and appreciate being able to stay in a private home. The students will be at the school all day until 17:00 and at night they will most likely be tired and just want to be by themselves or prepare for next day´s committee work.
To be a host is a fun and educational experience and you get the opportunity to get to know a student from a different country. You also contribute to your own school by taking on important responsibility and making this conference possible for external students, who otherwise wouldn´t be able to attend BIGMUN.
To be a host you don´t have to be part of BIGMUN as a Delegate or in any other way but by being a host you become an important part of the conference, thus you get invited to the BIGMUN´s dinner and party Saturday night.
