Danish High School Volleyball Championship 2025 at Birkerød Gymnasium
On February 26-27, 2025, the Danish High School Volleyball Championship will be held at Birkerød Gymnasium. The event is an event that is held every year, and where BG traditionally qualifies - and in many cases has also done well - on both the women's and men's sides.
The Danish High School Volleyball Championship turns between different schools that register on a voluntary basis. This year, BG has submitted to the event and been awarded the hosting rights.
BG is participating with two teams, a women's team and a men's team, both of which are directly qualified through hosting. This means that the teams have not gone through a qualifying round. This also means that it will be exciting to see how they do throughout the tournament.
The preliminary games will be held in the evening of the 26th, and possibly also in the morning of the 27th of February. On February 27, it will be possible, during school hours, to come by the multi-purpose hall and watch volleyball at a high level. Around 13.30-15.00 there will be finals, where the best Danish high school teams will play for the title, and semi-finals can be seen earlier in the day.
For the position matches, including the finals on Thursday, there will be referees from Farum Holte Volley present, to ensure a fair run of the competition. In the preliminary matches, representatives of the different teams will referee the matches.
In connection with the event, a few helping hands may be needed. The tasks primarily consist of guiding the teams to their classrooms when they arrive on Wednesday afternoon / evening, as well as help with setting up nets in the multi-purpose hall before the game. There will also be a need for tournament secretaries, line judges, scorekeepers, etc. Knowledge of volleyball is good, but not a prerequisite.
