Alumni – Student, and then what?
Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 09:45–11:20 for STX and 11:55–12:40 for HF we are hosting our annual Alumne-event. We invite YOU to come and tell current students about what you have done during your gap year(s).The purpose is to give 3rd-year STX students and 2nd-year HF students concrete examples of what student life and possibly working life can look like.
This learning does not happen if only a glossy picture of student life is painted or if you only talk about the academic content. Many students in all types of upper secondary education experience that no one talks about ‘the difficult parts’ and therefore feel pressured to be perfect themselves. That’s why it’s important that you are willing to talk about the fun, the exciting, and the difficult – both in your decision-making process (transition from upper secondary school) and at the start of your studies.
It requires that you are willing to speak in front of an audience with a microphone.

YOU! You graduated as an STX/HF student from BG in 2020–21 or 2021–22 and have tried a bit of everything.
Write a few sentences about:
Your decision-making process. What did you do/are you doing to figure out what you wanted to study? Please elaborate on the thoughts behind your choice of education/job (interest, inspired by others, others’ and your own expectations, etc.), and whether you have considered changing your choice.
What does your student life look like? For example, tell how many hours you have per week, how much you need to read, and what the teaching format is like. Touch on exams and collaboration with other students – both the good and the bad!
What framework does your study set for your life: For example, how much time you spend on your studies, where you live, and how you make your finances work.
